Chamomile Cookies

Have you ever wanted to use your favorite loose leaf tea for a purpose other than steeping a cuppa? Well, we’ve decided to start posting some recipes that do just that.

We’re starting off with using a herbal Chamomile tea to make some cookies perfect for any day. Of course, we used our own Organic Egyptian Chamomile tea (http://www.elementtea.com/herbal/egyptian-chamomile.html). To no surprise, these cookies paired wonderfully with a cup of Chamomile tea!

Ingredients:
1/4 cup crushed, dried chamomile flowers
1 stick butter or margarine, softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
1 ¾ cup sifted flour
Grated rind of 2 lemons

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
2. Cream the butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla.
3. Stir in the flour and chamomile.
4. Drop by teaspoonsful onto a slightly greased cookie sheet.
5. Bake for 10 minutes.

Quick and easy!
